About Price Peg

Price Peg is a daily price-guessing game about home projects and everyday costs. There are three puzzles every day, each with its own item, and new ones unlock at midnight, your time:

• Normal: six guesses, and a guess within 5% of the real price wins.
• Hard: the same rules with only three guesses.
• One Shot: a single guess, scored by how close it lands.

Get the app

Put Price Peg on your home screen and it opens like an app, full-screen with its own icon, and works without a connection.

• iPhone and iPad: open Price Peg in Safari, tap the Share button, then Add to Home Screen.
• Android: tap Install the app at the bottom of the game, or open Chrome's menu and choose Add to Home screen.

Past puzzles you missed are under the calendar button at the top of the game.

Where the prices come from

Every puzzle shows its source and date after you play. Prices are U.S. national averages, or typical prices on the date shown. They aren't quotes: what you'd pay where you live will be different.

• Angi cost guides: national averages from completed jobs booked through Angi.
• Remodeling 2025 Cost vs. Value Report, © 2025 Zonda Media. Complete data is free at costvsvalue.com.
• The Home Depot: for things you buy, the middle price of the store's best-selling models on the date shown.
• U.S. government data: the Bureau of Labor Statistics (grocery prices), the Energy Information Administration (heating and gasoline) and the U.S. Postal Service (postage).
• Also: AAA, the American Farm Bureau Federation, Bankrate, CoStar (STR), EnergySage and the Sleep Foundation.

Price Peg isn't affiliated with or endorsed by any of these sources.

Privacy

• No sign-up and no accounts.
• Your stats stay with you. Your streak, stats and guesses are saved in your own browser and never sent to us. Clearing your browser data erases them.
• No cookies and no ads.
• Visit counts: we count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which doesn't use cookies or follow you around the web.
• Hosting: our host, Cloudflare, handles basic technical data such as IP addresses to deliver the site and keep it secure.
